I was quite impressed with previous single, ‘Loveson’ from this band – but new single ‘Monday’ really is nowhere near as good. Bitch Alert definitely seems to be losing some Bitch on this one. I had quite high expectations after listening to the last single, and being quite impressed by it – but the band just don’t produce the goods with this one.
There are 4 track on this single – 2 versions of ‘Monday,’ ‘Combination X,’ and ‘Waste Your Dreams.’ The only track where the band lives up to their name is track 4 – ‘Waste Your Dreams.’ This is an amazingly good Punk track and is just over a minute and a half long. It contains fast, powerful vocals, amazing guitar riffs, booming bass lines, and some of the fastest drum beats you have ever heard. If all of the songs on this single had been like this then this little single would probably be getting a 5/5 rating but sadly there are just too many tracks here that lack the Bitch the name suggests. ‘Monday’ is nothing exciting, and I was quite surprised about this considering I had been so impressed with what I had heard on ‘Loveson.’ Hopefully the band will come back with a better effort next time – maybe a track with a little more bite that’ll cause more of a stir and turn a few heads.
If Bitch Alert can get their act back together then maybe we will see another promising single next time around. ‘Monday’ is definitely not one of their better tracks, and there is a sea of good tunes on the album which they could have chosen to release instead of this one.
