Protest The Hero are a young band with all members only 19 years old, however already they have garnered some great success for themselves. With a sound that could only be described as Coheed and Cambria meets Alexisonfire, the band will soon have your attention, leaving you wondering why you did not check them out sooner. ‘Heretics and Killers’ is a high octane single that will have you cranking up the volume in order to get your full worth out of the track in able to hear the fine guitar work in its full glory. My only qualm with this single would be that the band possibly try to cover too much in too little time and in such at times the single does seem a little congested. They are clearly talented and it’s great to see them showing off what they can do, however with so much going on at a time you just don’t know what to focus your ears on next. Despite this however, the band do prove their worth and show their great talent with some mighty powerful riffs, slick vocals and supreme double pedalling drum work.
All in all I would say that this is a pretty decent single for the band and even if a little crammed, it certainly shows off what the band are capable of, which to be fair to them appears to be a great deal. Protest The Hero are definitely one to look out for in the future and with a tour currently taking them across the UK with Bullet For My Valentine, they are sure to pick up a good few new fans on their travels.
