During the X-Factor audition process I was always hoping to see the last of John and Edward. I was disappointed when they managed to make it all the way through to Boot Camp, but also realised when they made it that far and ended up in Louie’s group that there was a very good chance that they’d ultimately make it through to the live shows.
Sure enough, John and Edward were indeed one of Louie’s three chosen groups, and have now fought their way through to survive two live shows and perform for a third.
Since the start of the live shows, John and Edward have very quickly won me over, and now stand strong as my very favourite act in the competition. Last week’s Britney Spears cover made me smile more than I had done for a long time, and when John and Edward’s safety in the competition was confirmed I was very glad that they’d be back for at least one more week on the X-Factor.
John and Edward are certainly not the best singer’s in the competition, they’re two young guys that are clearly incredibly excited to have made it to the X-Factor live shows however, and every week when they get up on that stage they very much appear to be having a lot of fun. In terms of entertainment provided, John and Edward are the best that the X-Factor has to offer this year, and whilst they may receive boo’s from certain members of the X-Factor live audience; there are plenty of people out there that do like this Irish duo, and Cheryl Cole put it perfectly this evening when she described them as her guilty pleasure.
For the look of absolute horror that it’d put on the face of Simon Cowell, I’d absolutely love to see John and Edward win the X-Factor 2009. I don’t think they will be able to win the whole competition, and if they do ever end up in the bottom two then their chances of remaining in the X-Factor are incredibly slim; for the time being I’m enjoying the John and Edward show though, and will be bitterly disappointed if/when the time does come that they’re forced to leave the competition.
A vote for John and Edward is a vote to keep entertainment in the X-Factor, and tomorrow evening we will hopefully learn that John and Edward are safe to sing again, returning for a fourth week on the X-Factor.
