Having already released three albums, performed at the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony, and also written the Bafta and Ivor Novello award-winning themes to hit BBC dramas Wallander and The Shadow Line, you can definitely say that Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo have had a successful career to date, and come July 8th they’ll be looking to add to this with the release of a new studio album via Linn Records.
‘Dear River‘ is the first single to be lifted from the studio album of the same name, and Emily Barker has had the following to say about the track:
Dear River is a song about journey, it is a longing for the unfamiliar, where the journey itself becomes a home. However, the more I travel and experience, the more the river calls me back and I start longing for what I knew: those first landscapes, those first loves
