Twenty years on from the release of the original Mutant League Football game on the Sega Mega Drive, game creator Michael Mendheim is now seeking to reboot the franchise with a fresh release of the game for PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, iOS, and Android.
In order to fulfil the ambition of releasing a new version of the game complete with new storyline, characters and environments, Michael Mendheim is hoping to raise $750,000 via Kickstarter by October 16th 2013 so that the game can once again be enjoyed by the masses.
Due to its original popularity back in the early 1990s, Mutant League Football spwaned a spin-off in Mutant League Hockey, and there were also plans to release a third game in the franchise in Mutant League Basketball. Whilst Mutant League Basketball never came to fruition, Michael Mendheim is now hoping that Mutant Football League can raise the money required to continue the Mutant League legacy, and has already established a strong team of individuals ready and willing to get to work on the franchise reboot if/when the Kickstarter campaign hits the $750,000 target, with an expected turnaround time of 14 to 18 months once they get the ball rolling.
By contributing to the Mutant Football League Kickstarter campaign you can help make this happen, turning the hope and dream of seeing a new Mutant League game released a reality.
