For the past few years, FIFA fans on the Nintendo Switch have had to settle for a ‘legacy edition’ of their favourite football game, featuring the same gameplay features and modes since FIFA 19, without any new development or significant enhancements.
There had been hope that perhaps things would change for the freshly rebranded EA Sports FC, however, and we do now know that, for the first time in years, the Nintendo Switch version of the game has received some serious upgrades.
For the first time in the series, the game will now be running on the Frostbite Engine, and with that comes the inclusion of PlayStyles optimised by Opta, a brand new addition across all platforms that will provide heightened authenticity in terms of how players look, feel and play.
Volta and Clubs will also both be coming to the Nintendo Switch for the very first time, you’ll be able to develop your own club legends in Ultimate Team with the inclusion of Evolutions (enabling you to complete a set of objectives to improve a players overall rating and help keep them competitive throughout the year), and you’ll also now be able to add women’s footballers to your Ultimate Team squads, creating your dream XI from a mix of both men’s and women’s footballers.
Rivals, Champs and Squad Battles will also all be present in Ultimate Team this year, and all of these various updates and additions should surely help make EA Sports FC 24 for the Nintendo Switch stand out strongly as a substantial upgrade over its predecessors.
EA Sports FC 24 for the Nintendo Switch is officially set for release on September 29th.
