Originally released back in 2004, Shane Meadows’ Dead Man’s Shoes is officially set to return to UK cinemas next month, including a special showing on September 12th as part of the BFI Southbank’s Acting Hard season where Shane Meadows will be present for a Q&A.
Other films to be featured in the BFI’s Acting Hard season include Nick Love’s The Football Factory and Ken Loach’s Sweet Sixteen, with the rather interesting theme of the season being the exploration of representations of working-class masculinity in British cinema.
Dead Man’s Shoes is definitely a very interesting, gritty psychological thriller that’s well worth checking out. Hard hitting, yet impactful. It’ll be in cinemas nationwide on September 15th, and for those curious; you can check out a new official trailer for the film below.
